If you are not sure what exactly an electronic cigarette is, I will explain it. For those who do know what they are, you can skip this paragraph. Electronic cigarettes or “e-cigarettes” are just like traditional cigarettes without as many health hazards. They contain no tar, no pollution, no carbon monoxide, and no lit end; but, they do contain nicotine. They are a safer alternative to traditional cigarettes, cigars, or pipes and can be smoked just about anywhere. Whether you are at a restaurant, in an airplane, on a bus, or anywhere else that prohibits smoking in the area, you are able to enjoy e-cigarettes.

There are many benefits, when it comes to using electronic cigarettes. Here are 10 reasons why electronic cigarettes are better than traditional cigarettes:

10. There are a variety of flavors to choose from. You can choose from apple, strawberry, coffee, vanilla, mint/menthol, cherry, or many other different flavors. This is not including the traditional full flavors and strengths.

9. Better tasting than traditional cigarettes. Even when kissing a non-smoker, they don’t complain about how your mouth tastes like an ash tray. The vapors, which contain the nicotine, does not have the same after-taste traditional cigarettes leave in your mouth or the smokey-smell on your clothes. When you taste the vapors, it’s like a fresh taste and a fresher smell.

8. Not as messy as traditional cigarettes. No more worrying over ashes getting everywhere or messy cigarette butts lying around in your ashtray or flicking them out of the window. The cartridge, which is the filter part, snaps on and off. Each cartridge lasts about as long as 2 packs of traditional cigarettes. When you change the cartridge, you snap in a different cartridge and throw away the old one.

Electronic cigarettes cost half that price or less. You can buy a carton of cartridges for about $17 to around $25 and they last just as long. So, you can get about 2 cartons of electronic cigarettes for the same price as one carton of traditional cigarettes.

3. No worries of second-hand smoke. The vapors given off by electronic cigarettes are basically just water vapors with nicotine in them. There is no carbon monoxide found within the vapor, which is better health-wise, too.

Although, electronic cigarettes are not healthy or great for your health, they are a better alternative than traditional cigarettes.

Electronic cigarettes help you in many ways. You can use them as either a safer way to smoke everyday and anywhere, if you would like to keep smoking, or you can use them to quit smoking. If you choose to quit smoking by using the electronic cigarettes method, my advice to you would be to purchase the same milligram (MG) equal to your current cigarette brand. By this I mean, if you are smoking Full Flavor Marlboro cigarettes, you choose the 16MG cartridges. Once it’s time to buy refills, go to the next lowest MG available and work your way backwards, until you reach the non-nicotine cartridges. Once you are at the non-nicotine cartridges, you can either lay down the electronic cigarette or if you still have that urge of wanting to smoke one, the non-nicotine cartridges are safe enough to use, in order to take away that loss feeling.

In my own personal thoughts about electronic cigarettes, I found them to be a lot more refreshing than traditional cigarettes. I chose to go with the company called “Blu” and bought my starter kit for $59. When they came in the mail, I couldn’t wait to try it out to see what it tasted like. The electronic cigarette, itself, was quiet heavy because of the battery, that is inside of them. When I took the first puff or pull off of the cartridge filter and inhaled, I was quite amazed. It did not have a bland taste to them or anything nasty tasting. I chose to go with the menthol flavor, since I’m used to smoking Newports. Compared to them, they were actually better tasting and had a fresher feeling to them.

As the time went by, I never had a craving to go back to traditional cigarettes and I have told so many of my smoking friends about the electronic cigarettes and had my friends try a pull off mine. They were so impressed that they ended up buying a starter kit, as well. So, everyone I know is “e-smoking” and it’s so nice. I will never switch back to traditional cigarettes.

Many people may have heard about the remark FDA made about a chemical found inside of the electronic cigarette, which is used in anti-freeze. What they didn’t realize is that the chemical is basically inside of many foods and other quit smoking products such as NicodermCQ and Nicorette.

What if there is a chance, as slim as it may be, to have your smoker’s fix within the bounds of propriety and the law? A solution from the East has been introduced to the US and European markets lately. It is called the Electronic Cigarette – a high-tech, non-combustible nicotine delivery system without the bad odor, the second-hand smoke, the yellowed teeth, the dirty ashes, and the discarded butts.

Electronic Cigarettes, or ecigarettes, do not burn anything, so they do not produce smoke. Aside from that, the vapor does not stay in the air, but dissipates quickly as soon as it is released. The best advantage of all, in the smoker’s perspective, is the cost-efficiency of electronic cigarettes. For every nicotine cartridge used up, ecigarette users can enjoy up to 300 puffs, which is 20 times more than the ordinary cigarette. The electronic cigarettes do not burn down, making them last longer and each puff well be worth the price of each cartridge.

The cartridges are available in four nicotine strengths — high, medium, low and zero-nicotine strength. However, each cartridge delivers less nicotine than an ordinary cigarette. This important difference is one basis for the notion that electronic cigarettes can help break the habit. There is, however, insubstantial evidence to support this. Nevertheless, tobacco researchers and doctors do not eliminate the possibility of using electronic cigarettes in smoking cessation therapy.

What is an Electronic Cigarette? Electronic cigarette or ecigarette is a device that allows the smoker to have the flavor and feel of nicotine without the consumption of cancer-causing agents such as tar, carcinogen additives, hydrocarbon and other harmful substances.

They look like a real cigarette and even release artificial smoke. The smoker can puff on a cigarette without inhaling any real smoke. Therefore, smoking an ecigarette is not risky for the smoker as well as the people around him.

Elements of an Electronic Cigarette: Ecigarette is in the form of a cylindrical tube which resembles the traditional cigarette. The ecigarette functions like the normal cigarette. It  includes a mouthpiece, an atomizer and a battery.

Mouthpiece: The mouthpiece or ‘Cartridge’ holds the nicotine solution filled in the small plastic cup. The nicotine is available in different strengths. The cartridge can be replaced or refilled once the liquid in the mouthpiece is consumed.

Atomizer: The atomizer or the ‘Heating Element’ of the ecigarette is used to convert the solution of nicotine present in the cartridge to vapors.

Battery: The small battery powers the heating element of an ecigarette and is rechargeable. The full charge lasts for about a day. LED light cover caps the battery which indicates the activation of the device. The color of LED is mostly orange to resemble the burning of the real cigarette.

How an Electronic Cigarette Works: When the smoker inhales through the mouthpiece, the sensor detects the airflow and activates the heating element or the atomizer. The heating of the atomizer, vaporizes the nicotine solution filled in the mouthpiece. These vapors look like smoke and offers the smoker the same feel and taste of a traditional tobacco cigarette. These vapors evaporate instantaneously without harming the smoker. The glowing LED light gives the impression of the burning cigarette.

Benefits of Electronic Cigarettes: The smoker gets the true satisfaction of actually smoking a cigarette. Electronic Cigarettes are cost effective and much cheaper than traditional cigarettes. Thus, you can save large sums of money while keeping your health risk-free. The ecigarettes can be used in no smoking areas. The smoker has the real freedom to smoke whenever and wherever he wants.
